The Story Behind This Motif

Kingkhap is a royal motif of Assamese silk weaving — once reserved for Ahom royalty and woven into the finest muga and paat silks on the looms of Sualkuchi. Wearing it is borrowing a little of the old court’s grandeur.

King khap style: This style is inspired from the Ahom dynasty and signifies the royalty and magnanimity of the erstwhile kingdom. The design consists of two lions facing each other. Joon biri style: This pattern is basically woven on the silk garment which is inspired from the Assamese neck piece called the Joon biri.

Made from premium-grade cotton, it offers a luxuriously soft feel with breathable comfort that lasts all day. The design is not just an outfit, signifies the royalty and magnanimity of the erstwhile kingdom.
