Boro (Bodo) motifs are traditional woven patterns used in Dokhona, Gamsa, and other textiles of the Bodo tribe of Assam. These motifs usually feature repeating geometric shapes, stepped diamonds, zig-zag lines, floral symbols, and nature-inspired elements.

Karbi motifs are integral to the traditional weaves of the Karbi tribe of Assam. Found in garments like Pekok, Pini, and Jambili Athon–inspired patterns, these motifs use strong geometry, symmetrical lines, leaf forms, animal-inspired symbols, and totemic shapes.
